Ayrton Senna
The Brazilian Ayrton Senna is considered one of the best Formula 1 drivers of all time and the sport's foremost. Unfortunately, he, like many others, died in Formula 1 as the safety was not high enough. After Senna's death, safety in Formula 1 has become much better and the bottom plate was created after his accident on the Imola circuit in connection with the Imola Grand Prix in 1994.
During his relatively short career, Senna managed to become world champion in Formula 1 three times. In 2009, a large poll was conducted among 217 then-living Formula 1 drivers who voted Ayrton Senna the world's best Formula 1 driver.
