DTM

DTM, which is an abbreviation of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, is thus the "German standard wagon championship", which was started as early as 1984 as a German series, but which is now run on racetracks throughout Europe. In 1985, our Swede Per Stureson won the DTM championship and "Peggen" Andersson also drove the series during the 1980s. Mattias Ekström has won the championship in both 2004 and 2007 in an Audi A4 DTM. After something of a decline during the 90s, the DTM was resurrected in 2000 with silhouette bodies according to its own regulations. They look like passenger cars, but the rest is 100% racing car with carbon fiber chassis, rear wheel drive and V8s.
